Mr C N Balakrishan is a pre-eminent political and ideological leader. Properly know as C N amongst his comrades and fellow party workers.A man who has great visions for his country. A true follower of Peace, Justice and Ahimsa.
63 yrs back a 13 year old boy was walking back home after school when he saw a procession.His master too was here with the group of people shouting "Jai Hind", he explained to his pupil that India got independence and the British will leave the country today at midnight.An over enjoyed C N also joined in the procession and took part in the joy of his country.That was his first step into social life.
C N was born on 18 November ,1935 as the son of Parukuttyamma and Narayanna at Mutauvara a small village in the dist of Thrichur, Kerala state in the southern part of India.He had three brother and sisters(all are deceased).He did his education at the Puranatukara Asharam School.He was not a bright student but was too naughty. At that time none of his teachers ,fellow classmates or his family ever thought that their naughty Balan will grow up to be such a great respected man in the society.
C N's social life started with the libraries .By making the library in his village a happening place.The library at first was on a rented room ,had only a hand full of books,no regular members and no government grants.Due to C Ns hard work the library made its own building with the help government grants bought more books.That library is still 1 of the best in Trichur.C N later become the trustee of the Committee of Libraries and has travelled all over Kerala for the development of the libraries.It was C N who took the initiative for the library workers to get pensions.
C N then become the block convenior of Barath Seva Samaj.The samaj gave C N more new grounds.So many programmes were conducted by the samaj under CNs supervision.The worked day and night for the success of the samaj.The samaj helped people to get new jobs, taught women to make various products and to start their own small units.The samaj under the gudience of C N did a lot to the society.
In 1972 C N expanded his service to Khadi. He became its President.
